Taco Local prides itself in fine Mexican cuisine. Great tacos, fun atmosphere, and fast service. The al pastor tacos were extremely flavorful and the serving was very generous. Carnitas were super tender and the trio of dips were delicious. Prices are quite higher than standard taco joints, but the food is authentic and comes out right away, hot and fresh. Will return to try the tequila lime chicken, Korean bbq and a few margaritas.
Cute little restaurant! Interior looks like a cellar. Nachos, tacos and quesadilla were all a big hit. The mango braised pork was so tender and flavorful. House margarita was strong- yum. We'll definitely be back!
A friend & I did the "Family-Style Taco Dinner" with Chicken Nachos, Seared Steak & Mango Braised Pork, and a fruit pastry. Nachos were good, but nothing to rave about. Steak was dry. Carnitas were so moist and delicious. Loved the blue corn tortillas - I have never seen that before. Pastry was average.
Biggest ding to this restaurant, our waitress was very unprofessional & kept coming over to our table unprompted to talk about her personal life. It made us uncomfortable, as we were trying to enjoy a meal & conversation together.
Overall, I think it was a bit expensive for the quality, but we both went home full & with some leftovers. Not sure I'd visit again.
A very tasty Mexican restaurant in a great area. The building itself is unique and interesting. But, the food is more than that, wonderfully delicious! I love how you can get any of the tacos in a bowl form. The Baja Shrimp tacos were to die for along with the Chicken Nachos. Highly suggest if in the area. The staff, especially Felise we’re all amazing and quick. We ran into an issue with the kitchen getting confused, but Felise was quick to fix it and turn it around for us. She definitely was the highlight of our experience.
Authentic tacos with many unique flavor profiles. Very different flavors and combinations from any other taco places in MSN. Go try them all!
The restaurant has a very intimate feel. Our server balanced checking in and letting us enjoy the food the perfect amount.
The bartender came over to check in on drinks and take special requests. The very spicy margarita was really good - spice does not linger.
Really underwhelming first experience. The steak tacos are really bland. Just no seasoning or marinade, a tiny bit of cream onions and single piece of cilantro, no limes and that alone would have been a little better. Shrimp tacos were okay, kinda a mushy taco. Tacos come with cold esquite (first time cold for me, but was good) and a chopped lettuce salad with no dressing and and 4 pickled red onions, I don’t know if it’s supposed to have dressing but it really had no business being on the plate. Chips and queso was good, but kind of a small portion. The service was weird too, they need to seriously reevaluate the tacos, I’ve made better ones at home and had much better tacos in Madison and beyond, especially for $15-$18.
Liked the vibe of the spot. But overall below average experience.
Wonderful brunch! The crafted coffee & house made tortilla chips and queso were amazing! Such a cute place! Our server spent time explain the menu, specials, & was easy going! Quality over quantity! The perfect amount of food.
Hostess was very friendly. I love this taco joint! We had an appetizer of the tostadas, then I had the chicken tacos. I would highly recommend. Very cool place and good food.
